CISRS Basic Scaffolding Inspection Course Overview
This course is aimed at those who have responsibility for undertaking statutory scaffold inspection of non-complex scaffolding structures. This training will provide an understanding of basic access scaffolds and compliance with current scaffolding legislation and Codes of Practice.
It is intended to equip learners with up-to-date health and safety knowledge and the relevant considerations to be made when undertaking scaffold inspections. See more details for course objectives, content and prerequisites.

Delegates completing a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection training course will be able to:
Identify and inspect tubes, boards, ladders, gin wheels, ropes and fittings correctly
State the main requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, the Work at Heights Regulations 2005 and codes of practice relating to scaffolding
Identify the construction requirements common to all scaffolds to include which includes foundations, scaffold framework, TG20 compliant scaffold and permissible additions, work platforms, handrails, toe-boards, safe access and egress
Carry out inspections and fault identification on access scaffolds
Complete and maintain reports in accordance with current statutory provision

To complete CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection, delegates must meet at least 1 of the following criteria:
- Hold a current CISRS Scaffolder card
- Hold a current CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card
- Hold a current CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor card
- Hold a current or expired CISRS Basic Inspection card and is attending the course to renew their card for a further 5 years
- Individuals not holding an eligible CISRS card will be required to submit evidence confirming their awareness and experience of scaffolding structures gained via their role within industry

PRE-REQUISITES
All delegates need to have completed a CITB Health, Safety & Environmental Touchscreen test within 2 years of application or (have a recognised exemption).
To attend a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection course, delegates must have 1 of the following criteria:
Hold a current or expired CISRS Basic Inspection card and is attending the course to renew their card for a further 5 years.
Individuals not holding a CISRS Scaffold card must fill out and return the CISRS Entry Check Form provided by Aspects Total Training when you book, to confirm 2 or more years in the industry.

Hold a current Part 2 Scaffolder or Advanced Scaffolder card.
